Recovering from a poor YT Short capture in Las Vegas (AI Upscaling) - Read Description!
While in Las Vegas this last weekend, I took a YT Short (I'm still new to Shorts) in landscape (you know, an aspect ratio that actually makes sense) and the YouTube app not only shot it at horrid low res, but rotated it to portrait.
What I had was a near worthless piece of footage (one of my only ones from the event). I downloaded the video and rotated it but with 406x720 resolution? The rotation was a complete mess.
So, I took the original footage and left it rotated incorrectly - ran it through Topaz Video Enhance AI to 4k resolution. Then I rotated and cropped.
What you see here is the end result of that "tragedy". So great we live in a time when we can recover and make useful mistakes in capturing memories.
If there is demand for a "making of" type tutorial video on how I did it, leave a comment.
On a side note: There was a pandemic? :D
