Rockstar Games have finally confirmed that Red Dead Redemption 2 next gen PS5 backwards compatibility and Xbox Series X backwards compatibility. We have waited very long for this information and its about time Rockstar revealed some RDR2 news considering next gen consoles are being released this week.

Red Dead Redemption 2 + Red Dead Online Backwards Compatibility Next Gen

Red Dead Redemption 2 & Red Dead Online will be on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. This is greats news because there have been many questions popping up on the channel for the last couple months. A biggest highlights with Rockstar releasing this information is there are other Rockstar Games that will also be backwards compatible with next gen consoles and your progress in RDR 2 & Red Dead 2 Online will transfer to the next gen consoles so you won't have to play through the Red Dead Redemption 2 story again and your RDR2 Online character will not be reset.

This is also just in time for the next Red Dead Online Update. We don't know exactly when Rockstar will release the next major RDR2 DLC but with everything being backwards compatible, we will be able to play the next RDO no matter what it is on PS5, Xbox Series X & Xbox Series S.
