Our benchmarks for this video focus on some special use cases and explore the mysteries of Red Dead 2's PC release. The 9700K previously exhibited horrendous stuttering at framerates above a certain FPS threshold, but we hadn't previously defined that threshold (and this video does). We also related it back to the GTA V Intel i5 quad-core stutering issues, and have finally pinpointed that, no, this is not an issue specific to Intel or to a lack of hyperthreading, but rather a thread deficit and excess raw speed. Later in the video, we talk about async compute toggles in the settings (XML) file for the game, located in My Documents, Rockstar Games, and then Red Dead 2's settings directory. This testing shows async compute on vs. off for AMD (5700 XT) and NVIDIA (2070 Super, 2080 Ti).
