May 27th, Arthur leaves Valentine and starts to make his way back to camp, on route he does some hunting. Back at camp Arthur does some chores, he then notices Uncle lazing in the sun and tells him to prepare the wagon to get supplies in town. Karen, Tilly and Mary-Beth ask to join them after being stuck in camp for over two weeks.
On route to Valentine they see a stagecoach driver lose control, Arthur calm's the horse and returns it to its owner. Arthur and Uncle get the supplies whilst the ladies work the town. Mary-Beth tells the men about a train coming through Scarlett Meadows at night, Tilly is seen to be accosted by a man which Arthur intervenes, he warns Anthony Foreman to leave Tilly be.
Arthur goes into the hotel to get Karen and hears her being attacked and gets into a fist fight with her attacker. Before they can leave Valentine a man claims to know Arthur from Blackwater, Arthur chases him and warns Jimmy Brooks to forget their little interaction, Jimmy gives Arthur a steel pen for saving his life. Arthur then returns the horse he borrowed.
