Reflection on a Lost Thought (Piano Improvisation)
Written on June 5, 2015, this is an original piano composition and improvisation. This piece was completely improvised in one setting without any notes and in a very reflective and thoughtful style. Usually when I post pieces I write down every note in Finale and print it immediately and record because my goal is really to write for others to play. However, on this piece I was just experimenting for music for a film project I'm submitting to and just recorded to get the impressions of the other composer I'm working with. I doubt I'll go back and write it out after the fact, but liked the feel of it. Actually I love improvisation and teaching improvisation and it would be easy just to record lots of things, but as I mentioned, my goal is to write for others to play and almost all my pieces posted are just demonstrations of the exact notes on the written page... except for this one. :) ___On second thought... I am going to write it out and will post... (Update... I transcribed it note for note and will be posting).
