Originally released in Japan in 2008, RefleX is an awesome shoot 'em up made by the Japanese indie developer Siter Sakin! It wasn't until 2014 when RelfeX finally became widely available to a Worldwide audience thanks to it being released on Steam.

I was fortuate enough to have been able to play RefleX around the time it was released, and it has remained one of my all time favourite shmups ever since. Along with an amazing soundtrack and very nice graphics, RefleX offers a really cool gameplay mechanic which makes it different from most other arcade shooters. Rather than relying on special weapons and power ups, your best weapon in RefleX is a shield that allows you to deflect enemy attacks back at them! This creates a need for stratigic playing, as you need to balance the use of your main weapon and shield ability wisely.

I know that arcade style shoot 'em ups aren't the most popular genre these days, although I highly encourage you to give the game a try if you like what you see! Don't forget that the Steam holiday sale shuld be coming up soon as well, which should offer a chance to buy the game at a very good price!
