Rejected Mario Power ups:
First up is Dry Bones Mario: He would have been able to replenish form attack damage and can only die from falls and lava damage.
Centaur (Sen-Tor) Mario: This would have made Mario Run faster and jump higher as he turned into a half human half horse, but was replaced with the flying Tanooki suit.
Plunger Mario: In True Plumber fashion, Plunger Mario would only be able to go through warp pipes as he needs to unclog them.
In Super Mario Galaxy, Mario was originally going to have an Iron Man Like Space Suit, but this never came to fruition, but in Mario Odyssey he does have access to a Space Suit.
Before there was the fire flower, Mario was supposed to have a Gun to shoot at all times, A would be to shoot bullets, B would be to to Dash, and the Up arrow on the control pad would simply be to Jump.
Miyamoto wanted to make the map bigger and cause more on jumping, so thy got rid of the gun and created the Fire flower power up.
Mario was also supposed to have a Water Pistol in Super Mario Sunshine, but this got adapted into FLUDD, a multipurpose water pack.
