RE:LVPD Police Involved Shooting Jan 2022. | STOP LETTING MURDER OF MENTALLY CHALLENGED HAPPEN
0This was a domestic situation between a father and son, the father states in the 911 call that his son is mentally incapacitated/isn't using proper judgement (my son is on drugs... he's trying to break in). The police had information about previous disputes that occurred prior at the location involving the family in crisis. The man was very clearly upset, there was absolutely no de-escalation involved. simple attempt at trying to establish dominance with a gun that failed and did the exact opposite of what the protocol is for ( de escalation?!?!?) evasive maneuvers could have been taken to redirect him toward the other two officers (instead of him running like an untrained civilian with a firearm whos never handled a crisis like this) he could have simply ran around the car instead of running toward the wall, grabbed his tazer as the suspect was in proper range the entire time, we need to start open our eyes and correct these types of mistakes. A man, a son, loving family member, a mother is in shambles right now over this unnecessary use of force and the police think they can just lie and say they used a protocol that is supposed to involve de-escalation tactics when they clearly aren't training officers properly. theres a reason police don't carry side arms in other countries and this is a perfect example. another scared coward displaying a pathetic abuse of badge and power in front of americas eyes and everyone's too busy to care until their kid ends up dead in the street and the 'officer' who did it is trying to tell you that murder is justified because of a piece of metal pinned to his shirt. stop letting this happen, expose this shit at the root, these are fundamental problems that keep the cycle of racism, poverty, segregation and prejudice alive in today's society. weed that shit out, cut out the cancer and open your eyes to what we need to be doing together to fix this.
