It turns out, playing in co-op mode is crucial to reducing the platinum time for this game, as it increases the number of weapons you can get from the weapon pedestals at the end of every stage, and there are some boss skips you can do in co-op mode. Playing in co-op mode is also an easy to get the 'Enthusiast' trophies, as you can freely switch weapons with Player 1, while Player 2 keeps the weapon type of interest for the whole playthrough.
This run starts off by getting both the story mode playthroughs and trophies out of the way, then playing primarily in co-op mode for the rest of the trophies, only doing a single player playthrough for the S rank run, which is advised only after you've unlocked most of the S tier weapons. I would advise unlocking only Storm and Bullet Onslaught until you've completed a wildcard spell playthrough and boss rush.
