*Disclaimer* I am trait level 1000, so I do have the DLC traits active. While this will cause me to do more damage and be more efficient, these are still the most optimal ways to build without the DLC and are still extremely powerful.

Build summary:
Here is your chance to be OP even without DLC gear! This build is insanely powerful and can carry you through any difficulty level in the game. The beam rifle is a broken weapon and ramps up any concurrent damage. So what this will do is it will ramp up the damage of swarm and the hive shot to insane numbers. Gunslinger's charm is going to allow us to reach max beam rifle ramp up faster and also help with the atrocious reload speed that it has. Butcher's fetish will allow for more DPS but should be utilized only against bosses who are easier to melee. Speaking of melee, the radiant set can be a nasty melee build as seen in this vid. The scythe is one of the highest DPS melee weapons in the game and enables radiant to get max stacks quickly due to it's rapid strikes. The scythe also has the highest crit chance of all the melee weapons, which pairs nicely with radiant. Use burden of the gambler for non weakspot enemies and switch to the heartseeker against weakspot enemies. Devouring loop relies on RNG but with all of our trinkets and the radiant stacks, you should be able to proc it a few times in a fight for some big damage.
