4From When the Cicadas Cry: Episode 22.
As Rena looks at the rain from her van, she starts recalling her hard past.
It was one day when Rena went to an amusement park with her mother Reiko, but Reiko never told this to her husband. There, Rena meets her mother's friend, Akihito, and the three have fun together at the park. But here's where the bad part comes. Reiko asked Rena if she liked Akihito, and Rena responded yes. Reiko then asked her daughter this:
"If Mommy and Daddy were to live in separate houses, and you suddenly had to make a decision, who would you most want to live with?"
Then she quickly explains that she plans to divorce with her husband and that she was pregnant. Rena, furious at this, yells to her mother that she will live with her father and that she never wanted to see Reiko again. Reiko warns Rena that her life will be completely different if she lives with her father, but Rena didn't care. The flashback ends with Rena destroying her mother's objects.
Rena thought to herself that she shouldn't think about her past anymore and that she should be happy.
