Closing off the year with some unpublished Republique clips from the start of the year. I held on to the clips expecting to return to playing that game at some point... so far, that hasn't happened. Oh well.


0:00 - some strange A.I. oddity where a guard was walking against a wall. Hope's presence was enough to get him to walk correctly again.


0:26 - during Episode 1, there's a secret room where a trap door closes behind you. It has weird collision, and it's possible to sneak partially inside it so that Hope gets stuck running in place. I recall you could sneak back out, though, so you don't become permanently stuck.


0:42 - what happens if you get arrested in a cutscene? I tried to test this using the Episode 1 event where Hope gets locked inside a large hall. On my first attempt, Hope started struggling against the guard in the doorway, but was pulled to safety by the cutscene.


1:07 - on second attempt, I managed to get a guard to come with me in the locked hall. So I decided to instead test what happens if you get arrested in an area where there is no path leading to holding cells. In this case, the game simply teleports you back to the holding cells.


(Not on the video: the game is unwinnable afterwards because the doors to the hall remain locked, so you can't enter inside to solve the puzzle or do anything else.)


2:32 - I tested what happens if you skip all three cutscene triggers on the way to the Episode 2 area, thus preventing Episode 2 from ever starting. You can roam freely in the little lobby leading into the library, but the library door itself is sealed shut and cannot be opened. Maybe the area beyond simply isn't loaded during Episode 1?


2:59 - an unique camera glitch that I got while I was testing the Librarian cutscene skip. Even as the cutscene began, the camera continued showing the outside corridor like during normal gameplay instead. This became fixed during the second part of the cutscene.
