To my understanding
The purpose of the Universal Declaration of Human rights is an attempt by the somewhat ethically modernized countries of the U.N. to stimulate progressive changes within the countries that lack basic human rights as it would appear that most in the North American/European Region take for granted.
I want to find 30 young interested people from various countries in the world that would feel comfortable memorizing one article of this document and to say it in front of a camera, that would be used in a creation of a video.
The purpose of this, is to remind them if they have forgotten, what it is they are actually working on, and who it is they are actually working for. The purpose is to reignite the fire within the people working in the organization, representing the respective countries, in case the fire, the fire of the human soul needs to be relit. People get tired and distracted sometimes, it is normal.
This is not a political statement, but a reminder, as the Declaration of Human Rights to my understanding has been acknowledged by the international community.
The format of the video will be, just simply the splicing of 30 video clips of 30 people saying one article each. Starting from Article 1 and ending with Article 30. I would want to place your country and age as a subtitle and nothing more.
The way that it would work is simple.
1) You would do your best to memorize a few lines, and in the method you so feel comfortable with, to direct the words and your eye contact to a camera.
2) I can either record you on Skype or you can record it yourself, upload it to youtube, and I will simply take it from there.
The video, once together, will go to my youtube channel, aguynamedoleg, and the video will not be monetized.
This is simply a project, and I want to do it. If you feel like helping out let me know and we can arrange something, but it does require you to:
1) Have a webcam.
2) Be comfortable knowing that the video will be public for anyone to see.
3) If you are under 18, I would like you to tell your parents/guardians about this.
4) To simply be yourself, and you speak speak it in any language you wish.
After the video is complete, you can watch it and share it with your friends.
I will do my best to make sure every current member in the U.N. becomes aware of the video and the purpose of the creation of it, through email and a physical visit to each available location within the New York Metropolitan Area, with a copy of this letter, and a copy of the video on DVD, that I as well will video document, to be addressed to the Ambassadors.
