I played this back in 1998/99, but not with very much gusto. I think I preferred just watching rather than playing, but the remake from 2019 made me want to go back to this before tackling the newer version. This is the Sourcenext version, released in 2006 with some minor visual upgrades, plus the Classic REBirth mods to restore English language assets from Japanese, plus some quality-of-life improvements (e.g. door skips, which I tried to minimise, and fast reload, which actually causes problems sometimes!)

So here we go - the Claire A scenario comes first, which is what I think I did way back when. I followed up with Leon B, which will be forthcoming soon™.

I am using a DualSense4 controller with controls mapped to a similar configuration as the ASCII Resident Evil / Biohazard controller (check out @SharkiesGamingControllers video https://youtu.be/ZrJYIULQvb0 ) - here Square was located on the rear of the right gun-handle-shaped grip, with R1 located where Circle would be, and Circle where Square would be. So I was using R2 to Fire, X to Sprint and Square to "Ready" to closely mirror that configuration.

Edit - regarding the rankings, it later occurred to me that you get knocked down a ranking by using the "special" infinite ammo weapons you're awarded, not just any "two-slot" weapon like the SMG or Sparkshot. But I still am surprised I got an A rank here (and, spoiler alert, in Leon's B scenario)
