Whilst the OG RE3 is the weakest of the mainline pre-Gamecube series, it was unique in that you felt genuine terror in being pursued and were never sure where the enormous 7 foot Tyrant variant would next show up. It was consistent in keeping you on edge through its soundtrack and voice work - and the branching choice system kept the game fresh through multiple playthroughs. So how do you bring that intensity, horror, tension and playability to a new generation of gamers?

Capcom make it seem easy. You throw the player into a panic-inducing introduction sequence as you flee the relentless creature that only wants one thing. You. Dead. Dead as fuck. Where RE2 Remake focused more on the silent and un-nerving slow exporation, this game focuses on action at breakneck speed. You will rarely get a chance to breathe as you unload on or dodge through hordes of zombies, hunters, lickers and the dreadful drain deimos (whose nest is particularly frightening). A major criticism from other players seems to be RE3's length and cutting some content like the clock tower - however I would say that the slower scenes may impact the replayability of this game - the action is what made me do 3 runs back to back on release.

Its a brilliant game, and one that deserves more priase than it originally got. If I were to offer criticism then it would be the horribly designed final boss on harder modes, and Nemesis's scripted appearances being too few. I enjoyed everything else.
