Attempting to restore my old teak decking on my boat.
The teak is rotten in many places. If I had enough money I would replace the whole lot with new, but instead, I experminent with painting it with polyester resin, and then add a couple of coats of UV protection.

I am unsure how long this will last since the weather temperature and humidity can change quite a lot over the year, but just giving it a go anyway.

00:00 Old boat teak deck is rotten and fragile.
00:30 Sanding the teak; deciding to restore, not replace.
01:00 Applying polyester resin quickly to seal the wood.
01:45 First layers applied, good grip observed after rain.
02:15 Experimenting with PU18 in gaps was a mistake.
03:00 Sanding again and adding more resin layers.
03:45 Applying UV protection (wood skin) over resin.
04:30 PU40 is better for gaps than messy PU18.
05:00 Glossy finish achieved, concerns about temperature.
05:30 Happy with results, continuing restoration project.
