Retro 2008 - TCM Intro Disney's The Barefoot Executive - Cable TV History
5Turner Classic Movies (TCM) intro for The Barefoot Executive. This was one of the Disney film TCM showed for a month long series of movies called The Family Classics. Since they were all Disney films, it might as well have been called The "Disney" Family Classics. This video includes the introduction from TCM host Robert Osborne. I liked this film but it feels more like a Wonderful World of Disney TV movie than a feature film. And the ending of this film is a bit of a mess and borderline ridiculous. Still, it has Kurt Russell and John Ritter who make it watchable. You'll probably never see it on Disney+ because for some reason they have a problem adding any movie they've made with monkeys in starring roles. That list includes Moon Pilot, The Misadventures of Merlin Jones, Monkeys Go Home, The Monkey's Uncle and Toby Tyler just to name a few. If they're animated, however, Disney+ seems ok with including them. Maybe that's because they can't shelve films like Lion King, Tarzan or Jungle Book just because it features a monkey.
