In this episode of Retro Flashforward, I take a look at Shovel Knight. I played the PC version but it's also available on Wii U, 3DS as well as Mac and Linux if you're some kind of crazy person. ;) This comes to us from a new team comprised mostly of WayForward people and it shows! A great mix of Mega Man and Super Mario Bros. 3, drenched in NES aesthetic with just enough modern additions to make it fun in the modern era, this is a brilliant action platformer that even casual fans of the genre shouldn't miss out on.

Shovel Knight is available on PC, Mac and Linux from Steam, GOG and various other online retailers. The Wii U and 3DS versions are available from the eShop on both systems and if you have one of those, they are the ideal platform as inventory management is done on the second screen.
