We explore two iterations of Tecmo's flagship fighting series to determine if there's a real game in there, or it's just a total bust.

Technical note: As seen in the video, this version of Dead or Alive 2 supports widescreen. However, due to technical limitations, it doesn't do so by creating a true widescreen picture. Rather, it presents a picture distorted in such a way as to appear correct when stretched to fit a widescreen display. Since the pre-rendered cutscene in the opening is not formatted for widescreen, it adds black bars on the side to compensate. Thus, while this may be difficult to see in the video, for us the opening was noticeably squeezed horizontally.
