Retro Gaming Capture Test 12 Part 2 | Nintendo Game Boy
More testing of gaming rigs I am building, where I would like each device to be played very quickly without any wiring and also to be able to capture footage where possible with just a few switches turned on. The point of these videos is to see how this type of set up can be done with different devices and maybe help anyone else trying to do a similar thing with a mix of old and new hardware.
The first part 2 video of this series. In testing number 12 I tested the game boy cartridge with a Super Game Boy adapter plugged into a Super Nintendo Entertainment System with a Hyperkin 3-In-1 HDTV cable. Using the same game cartridge as a comparison I test another option I now have to play and capture game boy games, using the Game Boy Player adapter with the Nintendo Game Cube and the Insurrection Carby V2 adapter. See in part 12 that the image is not only green with the previous solution but the aspect ratio was also stretched with the capture, although I was able to correct it with my display. This set up gives me colours, although they look a little strange, and a better aspect ration through the capture device. The audio sounded a little different, almost distorted at times, but seems to be quite good.
