Retroarch 4K CRT Bezel - Streets of Rage 2
4Hi everyone, today I'm back to show you how beautiful this filter is which upscales the image of old 2D games while preserving their visual fidelity.
I chose Streets of Rage 2 for Sega Megadrive/Genesis as the game for testing because it shows transparency effects that are usually poorly emulated if you use upscaling filters. Well, with this filter these effects are displayed much better than other filters that upscale the image. Not perfect, but I thnk it's very good. You can see the effect from minute 5:47, where there are beams of light illuminating part of the scene.
While I was at it I recorded an entire game of Streets of Rage 2, simply because it's one of the best scrolling fighting games ever and I had fun playing it :D
To avoid any display problems, it is better to watch in 4K full screen (or at least try changing resolution if you notice defects such as strange colors).
If you like the result, I leave you in the description the link to download the "shaders" folder (use Winrar to extract the files), to copy into your Retroarch directory (mine for example is C:\RetroArch-Win64). It should not overwrite any other shader that you may have in your "shaders" folder, in any case before copying and pasting I recommend you back up the "shaders" folder to be safe.
Once you have started a game, click F1, go to the "shader" item and load the "Niubblog_4K_CRT_Bezel.slangp" shader located in the "shader" folder.
