In this video, I'm showcasing Daijisho, one of the best Android emulator frontends and providing a quick set up guide/tips (also for the stock OS/Retroid launcher) on my RP3+. Please remember that the RP3+ is currently on sale for $135 (from $149) until Nov. 11, 2023 (on Retroid’s website).

Setting up Daijisho:
1. Install and launch Daijisho (it’s free from the Play Store)
2. To add your games systems: Click on ‘Download’ (at the bottom right corner) – Check/select the platforms you want to show/see on your frontend – Import
3. To add your games/roms to Daijisho: Click on ‘Paths’ – ‘Add More’ – navigate to find where your roms are saved (by clicking on the 3 dashes on the top left corner) – click on ‘Use This Folder’ (at the bottom) – Allow – Finish. Then, click on the ‘edit’ icon (at the bottom right corner) – scroll down to ‘Player Settings’ and make sure you have the correct emulator/core – click ‘save’. Then, click on ‘Paths’ again – Sync (and all your games/roms will automatically added to the system)
4. To change your theme/wallpaper in Daijisho: Click on ‘Settings’ (from top) – Appearance – Download platform wallpapers pack – Download Pack
5. To add your own box art/images in Daijisho: Download an image of your choice (in the ‘Downloads’ folder) – go into the system/platform – hold down/long press on the game – Edit item – Edit Preview Media – Box art – find/navigate to the ‘Download’ folder (where you have your image) – click on the image – Save
6. To remove on-screen controllers in Daijisho: Swipe your screen from left to right – tap the D-pad icon – Touchscreen – Hide With External Controller
7. To set up PS2 controllers in Daijisho: Swipe your screen from left to right – tap the D-pad icon – Controller Port 1 – Bindings (bind each of your keys/controllers)

Setting up the stock OS/Retroid launcher:
1. From your Android Settings – Storage – insert your micro SD card (label facing up) – swipe down the top of your screen, choose ‘tap to set up’ your SD card, you can choose ‘Handheld storage’ if you want to transfer files using a USB cable (you will not be able to take the SD card out of your device and plug it in a computer to transfer files to it) or ‘Portable storage’ if you want to take your SD card out and plug it in a computer to transfer files to it
2. Enable Google Play service (while turning on your device for the 1st time)
3. To add your games/roms to the Retroid Launcher (emulation frontend): Click on ‘Retroid Launcher’ – Emulation – Systems – Choose the systems you want to see on your frontend – click ‘OK’
4. To direct your game system towards the correct roms/emulator: Go into the system – ROMS – Add – Default SD Card Directory – Scan – OK
5. To direct the emulator to the correct BIOS (BIOS import): Go to the emulator – click on the 3 dashes on the top left of the screen – App Settings – BIOS – Import BIOS
6. To set up your BIOS: From the bottom left of your frontend – Setup – Move BIOS – Default SD Card Directory
7. To change/add missing box art: Keep pressing on the ‘A’ button – Box Cover – Google Images – Check ‘Don’t show again’ and click ‘OK’ – download image (the downloaded image will be automatically added to the missing box art)
8. For PS1/PS2 controller set up: Go to the emulator – click on the 3 dashes on the top left of the screen – Controller Settings – Touchscreen – change the ‘Touchscreen Controller view’ to ‘none’. Then, go to ‘Port 1’ and ‘bind’ each of your keys/controllers
