2In this Unity VRChat Tutorial, we go over what you will need to start building your VRChat world. You will need the VRChat Creator Companion from the VRChat website (when you log in), the CyanEMU package, VRChat from Steam (to test worlds as a local test), and some other things
GET THESE RESOURCES BEFORE STARTING
Unity version 2019.4.40: https://unity.com/releases/editor/archive
(NOTE: The 2019 version of Unity will work for this. It is very specific)
Create your VRChat Account: hello.vrchat.com (click on create account)
VRChat (the game itself): https://store.steampowered.com/app/438100/VRChat/
(NOTE: You DO NOT need to have a VR Headset to play, HOWEVER, if you plan to release worlds for quest users, you will need one to test out the world inside of VRChat to make sure everything works)
VRChat Creator Companion: To download this, first, create a VRChat account. Once you log in, head to download on the left side and select Download the Creator Companion . This comes with the VRChat SDK ready to go from the box.
CyanEMU Package: https://github.com/CyanLaser/CyanEmu
(This allows you to test your world without going inside VRChat. You can also test public buttons, variables and other things. We will cover more later)
TIPS:
Inside of the Creator Companion, make a new project. When the project is made, you will see other packages like VRWorld Tookit, UdonSharp, VRChat Client Simulator, and AudioLink. Install these by hitting the plus button on the right. We will be using these tools in this series to help you test the world and program selected world elements later on
