Returning [FFVII soundfont style] // Final Fantasy VII nostalgia/tribute
14A character theme I wrote for an rpgmaker game, now redone Final Fantasy VII style, together with some nostalgic footage… Game music made with the ff7 soundfont………or is it? (Spoiler: no actually, see below.)
It's actually not, but rather using some sounds from either thee original sources of the samples used in FFVII or something that sounds kinda similar if I don't know/have what that is. (I don't think these sounds are indistinguishable by any means, but we're getting *close* in most aspects?) I've been making retro cover versions/demake/FFVII soundfont versions of tracks from FFVII Remake / Advent Children / Crisis Core for getting on for a couple years now, and lately been thinking about putting them on Spotify etc, which is why I've been getting into this. I seem to remember I was definitely inspired by the idea of Aerith's Theme—like I wanted to write a character theme that was rather beautiful/sad and also quite… substantial/robust? Rather than overly delicate. Orchestral including brass I think I mean by that. There's also maybe a nod to Celes/the aria from FFVI in terms of the opening harp! So I've put it together with some pretty upscaled footage from the remako project, kind of like a trailer/reminiscence of Final Fantasy VII, best game. It shows some of the ending, but not exactly explicit spoilers. Certainly no more so than some of Squaresoft's original trailers and what they showed!!!
