The Bloodrayne series is one of those endearing series emerging from the early 2000s. A series that's very much the sum being greater than its parts. They're well-made games, that each take a different approach.
The first is a fast-paced third-person action-adventure title. Shooting mixed with hack-and-slash elements. Bloodrayne 2 dials back the speed and moves into a more character-action style of game. One akin to games like Devil May Cry. The third title, Betrayal, goes with the classic Castlevania approach while taking queues from the second's combat system.
I wouldn't call them great games, although they do flirt with greatness at times in different ways. But they're full of charm and memorable characters, especially our heroine.
