Assassin’s Creed is one of the most notable franchises when it comes to fans being divided among the series. Many fans fell in love with the idea of striking from the shadows and hiding in plain sight. They love the world built around the Assassin-Templar war and how it's been going on for centuries. But those fans feel neglected by the current day AC games that focus more on RPG mechanics and large scale open worlds. These new games brought more fans into the franchise than any of the originals, and are good games in their own right. But are they good Assassin's Creed games? These newer fans will quickly tell you that the old games were way worse and fans of them are blinded by nostalgia. So I wanted to put that theory to the test. Let's revisit Assassins Creed 2 in 2024 to see if it was a game that stands the test of time or if I'm just blinded by nostalgia.
