So last week we assaulted the Overseer UFO we shot down the previous week. It had three different new kinds of enemies on it: a “Sectopod”, a “Muton Elite”, and an “Ethereal”. The Sectopods are super tough. They have something like 30 health and each health point counts for double. Since they’re purely mechanical, you can’t capture them, but we did manage to capture both a Muton Elite and an Ethereal. The Ethereal is an alien boss, kind of like the Sectoid Captain, only tougher and smarter.

After that we had a very strange mission against Exalt. We had to protect a transmitter on top of a building and they were supposed to assault it, but somehow only one of us got the message. We stood on the top of the building for days, with an ambush set up, waiting for them to get there, but they couldn’t seem to figure out how to use the stupid stairs. This may sound like a good thing, but it really wasn’t. Eventually, we had to go downstairs and hunt them down, all while they were trying to set a trap for us. It would have been funny if it hadn’t been so desperate.

We also finished building our Psi labs and sent Chilong in for 2 weeks of “psionic testing”. If he’s got “the gift”, that could be helpful to us. We’ll be sending in others for their turn of testing, but only in small batches because they’ll be out of service for so long.

Yeah, last week was busy. This week, we’ll be starting by assaulting the small scout UFO we just shot down. We need to scan some more for an Exalt cell and try to figure out where they are based. We’re rapidly approaching the end game.
