Ridge Racer Type 4 Jogcon Controller Unboxing
An unboxing of an odd little bundle. When Ridge Racer Type 4 was released on the Sony Playstation, there was a version that came with it's own controller. Called the 'Jogcon' it had a small wheel in the centre of the pad which you controlled the cars with, the idea being that it would simulate driving a real car.
When the Jogcon is switched on the wheel has it's own built in rumble feedback and even has a resistance feature, so if you were driving at high speed or entering a tight turn at speed, the wheel would fight against you attempting a turn.
Also in this one is another odd controller, a giant beast of a thing called the Saitek PX5000! This thing allowed you to program button combinations into the pad, allowing complex combos to be done instantly with only the touch of one button.
What I didn't mention in the video is that you can lock the analogue buttons in place, the idea is for more percision moves, but it's a bit pointless if you ask me, I guess it would come in handy for games like Max Payne that have those long stright lines that you have to run down.
