I can't decide whether or not it's racist that one of these music youtubers think that Japanese bands are just better at math rock. I mean, sure, when I think about math rock, I'm typically thinking about Japanese bands, but they aren't the only ones out there. Let us not forget Slint, American Football, and Drive Like Jehu. Where would the genre even be without them? But they're all American bands. Sure, David Pajo of Slint is half Filipino, but he's not Japanese. I think maybe the history of math rock is American, but the future of it is Japanese. Name one good American math rock band formed in the past 10 years. Do it. You won't be able to. Go ahead.
