Ring Fit Adventure Round 6 (Man this game is long...) - FGR
It's that time again to try and beat Ring Fit Adventure with the sixth round!
Script:
It's that time again. Time to whip out the old ring-con and leg strap to get started beating Ring fit adventure. And let me tell you guys. After six rounds of thirty days sprints, after one-hundred and eighty days of playing this game… I am finally starting to feel a little bit bored by it. A huge testament to the game if I am only just getting bored now. What's going on, everybody! My name is Jack Jenkins, and welcome to my YouTube channel. I do videos on anything in the realm of self-improvement challenges. From fitness to knowledge to music, I try it all to turn myself from a pile of trash to a shiny, clean pile of trash. Today I continue my trek to onae-hundred percent Ring Fit Adventure for the Nintendo Switch.
In my thirty days of playing, I went from world thirty-two up to world thirty-seven. There are sixty-nine worlds in the game, meaning I am a little bit past halfway completing this game. I know they picked sixty-nine worlds on purpose—those dirty dogs at Nintendo. The game repeats the first twenty-three words three times, each containing a different dialog to keep the game interesting. To explain the story in a spoiler way, you start off running along a path, and you find a ring. You then pull that ring, letting out Dragaux. You then beat dragaux within the first round of the game. After defeating him, you then go through the game like a friend of dragaux who makes sure you are getting your fitness in. I like the dialog better in the second round since it's more of joking between friends' kind of vibe versus defeating the evil monster vibe so many games these days have. It changes for every character you interact with as well. So when you meet a character from the begging of the first round again, they go, "Oh! Long time no see there… I see you beat that dragaux…" and so forth. It definitely makes you feel like the game has more story to tell when in actuality, all it's doing is repeating content.
There are a few significant changes when doing the extra worlds. First, all enemies have gotten way harder, which, of course, makes sense. Secondly, all the side-quests are entirely gone. You now only have to beat the levels in the world, and you one-hundred percent complete it. That makes playing through these worlds so much faster. I can probably beat the game within ten rounds, which just shows how many side-missions there are in this game. The last significant change is that the mini-game ratings are higher. Instead of getting a B, you will need to get an A. That makes it pretty frustrating with games like squattery wheel, where the scoring is pretty tight to win. It's taken me many tries, but I was able to beat it eventually. My guess is the next round will force you to get that S rank which… is going to be a gauntlet.
It's time for the Jack complains hour. Woohoo! It's what everybody watches me for. My biggest complaint with the game is that I wish it had more exercise levels or a randomization system to apply the point value to other ones. Right now, I have almost unlocked the entire skill tree within the game. That means I have the highest-level stars for the exercises. Since I am trying to get through the game as fast as possible so that I can review other series. That lead me to use only the highest point value exercises. That means I am doing the same exercises over and over and over again.
Red boss? Well, let me whip out the old overhead arm twist for the millionth time. I know this is mostly my fault since I could just use a different but lower-powered exercise. However, this issue could easily be remedied by unlocking a system that will switch the attack power, recharge, and range with other exercises within the group. For example, the level three overhead arm-twist values will go to the Bow Pull, and that value will go to the Front press, and so on. Utilizing that option will get other players of the game and me out of the exercise rut of using the same exercises over and over again. It's such a simple switch that can quickly be done to make the game so much better. Alas, the game hasn't gotten an update in quite some time, so… looks like I am stuck doing Chair pose for the tenth time that day. Again, I could just do a different exercise. Still, I want to get through with this, which a gameplay developer could have foreseen.
With that complaint out of the way… I think I am done here. I am running out of things to say pretty quickly about the game, so I will probably take at least four months off from playing it. Don't get me wrong… I'd much rather play this game than some of the other ones I am doing. The game is still incredible to look at with fantastic music, inspired enemy design, and excellent writing. While the gameplay is starting to take a dip, its packaging is still as great as ever.
