Ala poor Battleborn, we knew ye well. In a move that surprises exactly...nobody, it seems battleborn has officially been put on a timed life support. It was announced yesterday in a 3 part tweet that Battleborn will die a slow death over 2020 and be sunsetted by 2021. As of Feb. 2020, there will no longer be any available purchases and it will stop being downloadable.

Ah Battleborn. The shooter that could have been in a slightly different space from the other "hero shooters" out there but got eclipsed by the juggernaut that is Overwatch. It was hard for BB to find its footing. Gigantic and Paladins were free to play. Overwatch and BB weren't but the hype behind OW was so massive, BB struggled out of the gates. A slow death of long queue times and eventually poor matchmaking flushed BB sadly.

I had my share of fun with BB and I will look back on its active days fondly. Oscar Mike's stupidity will be remembered as will the Phoebe cheese days and Toby struggling not to be cute.
