Time for more Days Gone!
Oh boy, it's time! :S The mission is even called "Don't Get Caught" so to say I have a bad feeling about it between that and Skizzo's involvement is a massive understatement. Got to be done though so we head out from Lost Lake to meet our favourite troublemaker. Rikki radios us along the way and tries to use her womanly wiles to lure us back to Lost Lake for a shower, but it won't work, stupid decisions and manly stench await. She realises we're out but doesn't find out where we're going. Not sure if that's good or bad but I feel guilty. Skizzo always makes things terrible! Speaking of Skizzo, we meet up with him in a predictably shady spot and begin the foot journey into the no-go lands.
Skizzo tells us about his past parleys with the Rippers and Iron Mike stuff, he certainly doesn't seem to be a fan of the whole thing (reassuringly) but he did get it done so we have to give him that. Like us though he's on team "this farce won't last". Some possibly Rikki aligned wolves decide to try to prevent our terrible decision too, but the power of 2 men making bad decisions together is a powerful thing and soon enough the wolves are dead and we're in, looking down on all the Ripper madness. There's a bonfire right where we arrive and they're all dancing around it out of their damn minds cutting themselves. Tempting as it isn't to join in Skizzo and Deacon sneak around it deeper into the horror filled dark.
Amazingly the Rippers ride bikes about so we have to watch out for insane patrols while admiring the local architecture and its generous use of human corpses. They also have a sort of radio system that might rival even Copeland's in insanity (without the charm though) which they disturbingly use to ATTRACT the freaks! x_X We get a look at their noise related tactics nearby as we discover a poor lady they've crippled and tied up, left to be eaten alive by the freaks attracted by noise the Rippers make before leaving her. Deacon can't bear it and goes to help but there's nothing we can do. The poor lady's legs are destroyed and she's in agony and terrified. We can hear the hordes coming and this place is suicide even with a fully working body and a knack for stealth. Deacon does the only thing they can, refusing to leave her to what the Rippers intend he holds her close and puts her out of her misery as kindly as he can. This place is going to leave scars.
They head on, shaken to say the least and near what appears to be warehouses from before it all went down. They dive into cover as a strange swarm walks past, Skizzo mistakes them for freaks but, somehow more disturbingly - they aren't. I don't know what they are, some sort of humans drugged to the point of freaks or goodness knows what, this place is hellish to say the least and there's a lot of worrying info and questions popping up already. The warehouses seem to be our goal but getting in proves fiddly. They finally find a way in only for things to go less than ideally in the extreme at the door, leaving Deacon INSIDE with a whole pile of Newts while Skizzo is locked OUT. Hmmmmmm balls :S
