The section of the PNPT on scanning and enumeration really broke down the process of finding services, enumerating features of those services and researching possible vulnerabilities associated with those services. Heath did a great job on breaking down the tools and processes beyond just "here's an NMAP scan, throw it into metasploit and pray" and I really felt like I came out of this section more knowledgeable than I was before.
