Road Trucker is a waste of money and a waste of your time. In an era with so many amazing games, you have to reason to be spending time playing this one. It is worth 1 euro, a price point where you would say, „aaah what the heck”, but don’t get fooled.
In Road trucker you drive one truck (that’s right, this truck right here is all you get) and drive around a forrest to deliver stuff to either point 1, 2 or 3. There is a considerable distance between the base and each point, problem is, the game isn’t enjoying. If you would get even one single item from your cargo out of the truck, the mission fails and you have to retiurn to the base. That’s right, you do the walk of shame back to the base. And the distance between points is considerable. So if you do even one tiny mistake , you do the long walk of shame like in San Andreas on that train mission.
But wait, Laurentiu, you would say, I like challenging games. Well, yes, challenging is fine, but the game is clunky and finicky. The physics are dogdgy. I mean look at this. I drove a little too hard over a stone and I lost cargo. To win in this game you have to drive slowly. Doesn’t sound exciting, wright? That’s because it isn’t.
The game is more finicky than fun. And no matter if you drive on the grass or on the road, the poor physics work the same.
There is a money counter in the top left corner, but don’t get excited, that is just for show. You can’t buy anything in this game. You can’t upgrade, you don’t get more trucks. What you see is all of the game. The same truck, the same map, and the same three delivery points.
My recommendation is to keep your money. The game isn’t worth any money. Not even a few cents in my opinion. Especially in today’s day and age where you can find good and cheap games easily. The game is rather someone experimenting with a game engine that an actual well though out game.
