Patch 1.7.0 for the PTR server has been released and with it comes version 2.0 of Roadhog's Chain hook. We took the hook through its paces to see how it works and how it interacted with other characters. When in open areas, it performs similarly to how you would expect, but when we take it nears walls the difference is noticeable.

The new hook now makes multiple line of sight (LOS) checks to see if Roadhog can still see the enemy. If Roadhog cannot see the center of the target, the hook will not land. If the hook lands and on the way back LOS is lost, then the hook will disconnect.

The exchange is that characters are now placed directly in front of Roadhog making all characters except for tanks killable with hook + left click. There were a few exceptions that required a little more work, but mostly it was straightforward and easy to do. I left video for any characters that took a little bit more effort. But usually it was just more of a body shot or running forward.
