Roboquest Gameplay
2A wonderful and very fun FPS roguelite game which is both fast paced and action packed. You go through levels, shooting all sorts of robots, punching and meleeing them, and double jumping dodging their bullets There is a wide range of guns from the usual kinds of smgs, shotguns, snipers etc, as well as ones like duel wielding crossbows, mine shooting guns, flamethrowers and laser guns. All of them are fun to play, with the huge range to play keeps the game more replayability and satisfying. I do especially like the sniper. The visuals do remind me of the borderland series, which looks great. Both the guns and environments looks pretty good, and the groovy music is kinda hype while playing which keeps you in the zone.
Gameplay is quite smooth and satisfying. Each time you start, you are given a random gun along with a handgun. Throughout, more pop out so you can either swap or keep using what you are using. This keeps the game more fresh too by allowing you change and try all kinds of guns. It's not just running around and shooting, as there are certain kinds of robots all around. Like there are robots that can stun you, and when that happens. comes up a short sequence of arrow keys you need to press in order to be free. Progression of the game is also nice both in the game where you are in the levels and out of the levels. As in the levels, you level up from killing the robots and gain xp. From there can choose perks to get stronger. Throughout, you also earn these wrenches which you can use on your base when you die for upgrades in order to have a better start in your future runs, like having more options to choose from at the start, or starting the run with a certain power up.
There is also a co op mode which would be fun to play, shooting down the hordes of robots together. Am excited to see how to progresses throughout the early access phase. It's great so far and an easy recommend for those into fps games.
