I might have an unpopular opinion here but I had a great time playing through this game. Even after beating the game as both characters I felt inclined to pick up all of the remaining 100 CDs, which is a cool bonus in this game. Each CD you find unlocks an entry in the CD database where you can see some fun stuff about various characters in the Mega Man series. They are totally optional and require using the unique abilities of both Mega Man (Rush Search and dashing) and Bass (Double jump and G. Boost) to find them all. For this reason, the CDs you have collected are cumulative across all save files. Some are located in plain sight, some are tricky to find, and some are deviously hidden, but at least the game will tell you how many remain in each stage. Many of these were found during my two previous playthroughs, but after I find them all I take a look at all 100 at the end of the video. Here are some highlights:

1 hour, 49 minutes, 5 seconds - This one was tough. Not really tough to see that it was there, but tough to actually get. Maybe there was a smarter way to do this but this was definitely the CD that took me the most effort to get.

2 hours, 18 minutes, 55 seconds - I was keeping notes about how many CD's remained in each stage but the numbers didn't add up. That's when I realized that they didn't tell you how many were remaining in the intro stage. Fortunately these were fairly easy to find with the helpful sparkles.

2 hours, 39 minutes, 25 seconds - Keep your eye on the right side of the screen. This final CD took me a long time to find and I eventually looked up a screenshot of where it was and still struggled to get it.

2 hours, 47 minutes, 10 seconds - This is where I showcase all of the CD contents. This game was translated unofficially to English, so I wonder how close it is to the original intent and how much is the translation team having fun. Some of them are pretty funny. Bomb Man looks a little funny, Hard Man and Aqua Man are vulgar, for some reason Quint has no digits in the upper left, Punk hates PTA meetings, Terra's downsides are spaced a bit funny, Mercury likes Communism, and Saturn hates video games. Good times.

I'm really glad I ignored the criticisms and played this one. Just goes to show you how one man's trash is another man's treasure I suppose. Next up, Mega Man 9 for the Wii.
