🔴Rogue is Officially Taking Over for Professor X as The X-Men's Next Leader🔴
This summer, Rogue will be replacing Professor Xavier as the leader of the X-Men in a new series that sees the team relocated to New Orleans. Marvel's new era for the X-Men, dubbed "From the Ashes," will see the world's mutants divided among separate teams. Joining Rogue in Uncanny X-Men will be some of the most popular X-Men, including Wolverine and Gambit.
Marvel has now released more information about the new Uncanny X-Men series from writer Gail Simone and artist David Marquez, along with cover art from Marquez for the series' first issue. In a world without Professor Xavier or the iconic X-Mansion to call home, Rogue and her team of X-Men will set up shop in New Orleans. There, they will resume the X-Men's classic status as outlaw heroes.
Marvel's ongoing Fall of X event has seen the mutant nation of Krakoa decimated by the anti-mutant organization known as Orchis. The dream of a mutant Utopia has been shattered, and the scattered X-Men must battle humans, AI and each other for survival. Professor X has embraced his dark side in an effort to keep the world's mutants from being exterminated. Whatever happens, the next chapter in the saga of Marvel's Merry Mutants will explore a world without Xavier. In his absence, Rogue must step up to unite the mutants of the world and keep them safe.
Rogue's core team in Uncanny X-Men will include her husband and New Orleans native, Gambit, along with Wolverine, Nightcrawler and Jubilee. Together, they will fight to bring mutants together and protect them from a world that hates and fears them. Uncanny X-Men will be one of several new team books launching as part of "From the Ashes." Other titles will focus on Cyclops and his band of mutant revolutionaries in X-Men by Jed MacKay and Ryan Stegman, as well as Emma Frost and Kate Pryde leading a Chicago-based team in Exceptional X-Men by Eve L. Ewing and Carmen Carnero. There will also be a new X-Force series with a team led by Forge, while NYX will focus on younger mutants like Ms. Marvel and Wolverine.
