4It is at this point that everything stops making sense.
Giant mutated bats, more panthers, and then most bizarrely of all a bunch of lava-men.
To hell with sense, apparently.
The bats are by far and away the most annoying enemy in this game; they flap around at the top of the screen, descending to attack at whatever goddamn moment they feel like. If you're facing the right direction and are ready to fire, this won't be a problem 99% of the time.
If not... you're fucked.
As for the burning men, they're just shitty. Erratic leaping around, and then when you shoot them, the bastards really put emphasis on how unfair this game likes to be; instead of doing the decent thing and dying, they split into four new burning men. At least these ones just piss off to the top of the screen, but still...
...dick move, Namco. Dick move.
