Welcome back to our celebration of fighting and fighting-platform based games here at the Retrocade! For this week's Suckerpunch Sunday, we're going back to 1997 and one of the most original fighting games of the 5th Generation, 'Bushido Blade' for the original Playstation.
Developed by a small outfit, then given some backing by Squaresoft, it's a game without health bars, rage meters or even special moves. It's you vs. one of six opponents, and ANY move can end the fight, so long as you do it honorably!
25 years later, it hasn't aged well, but if you want a fun fighting game you can finish in literally 15 minutes (and I proved it), this is the one!

Follow the Retrocade on Twitter at @RRetrocade!

We post all-new game content there five days a week, and help us his our goal of 100 subscribers ASAP by spreading the word about us! The faster we hit that plateau, the faster YouTube's algorithms will let us unlock customizable features to make the channel even better!

ALSO: If you're a fight fan, I'm psyched to announce my third YouTube media project "Superfights"! This one is dedicated to the history of boxing by pitting the best fighters of each generation against each other!
You can watch the first episode here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrNfFCPdXAGBPe5qoH1QvJQ

As always, be sure to leave a like, subscribe to the channel if you're new and hit the bell to be updated on the newest content every week! Also don't miss our special 'Sports Saturday' feature where we revisit classic sports games across the 3rd-6th generations!
We're also carrying on with our 1st-time playthrough of the 1994 SNES classic JRPG 'Final Fantasy VI' and posting two new episodes every Monday, Wednesday and Friday!

And if there's a game from the NES, SNES, Sega Master System, Genesis, Neo-Geo, Nintendo 64, PS1 or PS2 that you'd like to see featured on the channel, leave it in the comments below and you may see it in a future video!
