In today's final Nintendo Direct of 2013 we were treated to the first newcomer announcement since E3. Super Mario Galaxy's own Rosalina along with her little star comrade Luma enter the fray as a unique tandem.

An awesome new reveal trailer showed Kirby star riding above a galactic Mario Kart stage where the crew of Mario, Donkey Kong, Luigi, Bowser and Peach are racing a beam of light cuts Kirby off and he crashes on the course and comes face to face with little Luma as the racers stop their vehicles only to be greeted by the debuting Rosalina herself.

The trailer showed various amount of cool moves that Rosalina uses Luma for and she even showed off a few solo moves for herself. Very reminiscent of Olimar and his use of the Pikmin in his fighting style. This doesn't really come as much of a surprise to me given that just recently Rosalina was a confirmed additional character for the recently released "Super Mario 3d World".

Also if that wasn't enough she right after this trailer was finished was also the newest confirmed racer for the upcoming "Mario Kart 8" for the Wii U as well. Super Mario Galaxy was one of, if not the most beloved series that the previous Wii had to offer and as far as I'm concerned it deserves some recognition in a fighter, and who better than Princess Rosalina herself and her little star buddy.
