This is honestly the most fun I've ever had playing a ROM hack, and this is the result of several days of playing and recording; this segmented run, which clocked in at 9:46. A few notes about this run can be found below.

Each level in this video is its own individual level run, or IL. These were not done in a single, continuous run, and the score resetting to zero after every level should be enough of an indication of this. I've merely edited them all together as though it were one single segment run for viewing sake. This is a segmented run, which basically means this is all of my ILs stitched together to create a full game run featuring my best playing on each level without the added pressure of a single segment run, which is a traditional run from beginning to end without stopping.

Marble Zone was indeed edited to try and accommodate for her being able to glide and climb on walls, either to try and stop her from short-cutting the stage or give her a secret passageway. But, since there's no ceiling barrier in this zone, you can use the glide bounce technique to fly right over these walls, which I will talk about in a future video.

The zip in Labyrinth Zone Act 3 was one that I personally engineered after an hour of experimenting once I figured out this wall clip existed. It's a really awesome zip, as it places you right before the final checkpoint in record time. I also will be explaining this in a future video alongside the glide bounce technique seen frequently throughout this run.

Also, as explained in the video, I muted the game audio during the LZ 3 run because it was corrupted. Being that it came off the tail end of a 1 hour and 40 minute long recording, and that it was from a Game Bar recording, this tends to happen when I record for long periods of time, and it honestly infuriates me, because I'm sure none of you would want to listen to the Sonic 1 equivalent of, and I quote, throwing "a $2 Casio down the stairs." I may look into using OBS to capture gameplay of runs in the future for all ROM hacks, but I'll have to see if it impacts performance at all, because that's the #1 thing I care about.

In the Final Zone, I intentionally paused the game for several seconds right before entering the boss room. This is a technique used to load the boss without advancing the timer, which means he will start to attack a bit quicker once you enter the room. Combined with the late final hit delivery, it allowed me to finish with a 1:12 on the timer, one of many instances where Rouge manages to tie/beat an existing, official world record time in the original Sonic 1.

Other instances include the following:

GHZ 1 (WR is 0:24)
GHZ 2 (WR is 0:13)
MZ 1 (WR is 0:15)
SYZ 1 (WR is 0:21)
SYZ 2 (WR is 0:29)
SYZ 3 (WR is 0:49)
LZ 1 (WR is 0:44)
LZ 2 (WR is 0:27)
LZ 3 (WR is 1:14)
SBZ 1 (WR is 0:31)

Overall, I'm very happy with how this project turned out. Breaking the game to my heart's content with Rouge, who is basically a combination of a better version of Knuckles and Mighty, since she can jump higher and glide, as well as stomp without any recoil, is such a satisfying feeling. I feel like I have total control over the game with her moveset, allowing me to push this game to its limits and break it in new ways I never would have imagined possible. There's a few levels where I feel like I could take a second or two off, namely Labyrinth Zone 3, and maybe bring this down to a sub-9:40 overall run, but now that I'm done with this project, I'm going to take a break from this hack, and maybe ROM hacks in general.

Thank you if you read this far, you're a legend for doing so.
