Route 321: Lewisham - New Cross Gate
4London Buses route 321 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between New Cross and Foots Cray, it is operated by London Central.
Route 321 commenced operation on 8 November 1997 between New Cross Gate Sainsbury's and Foots Cray Tesco via Lewisham - Lee Green - Eltham - New Eltham - Sidcup - Foots Cray. The route was introduced as a replacement for the withdrawn eastern section of route 21 between Lewisham and Swanley/West Kingsdown. The route was initially operated by London Central from their New Cross (NX) and Bexleyheath (BX) garages using low floor Plaxton Pointer bodied Dennis Dart SLFs.
On 23 February 2002, the Bexleyheath (BX) allocation was transferred to New Cross (NX) garage.
On 12 October 2002, the route was retained by London Central.
In January 2003, the route was converted to double deck using Plaxton President bodied Volvo B7TLs.
On 10 October 2009, the route was retained by London Central and was converted to a 24-hour service.
In 2009, brand new Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 bodied Volvo B9TLs were introduced alongside the existing Plaxton President bodied Volvo B7TLs.
On 1 May 2010, part of the allocation was transferred to Bexleyheath (BX) garage.
On 29 September 2012, the Bexleyheath (BX) allocation was transferred to New Cross (NX) garage.
On 8 October 2016, the route was retained by London Central.
In October 2016, the route was converted to full Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 bodied Volvo B9TL operation.
On 6 April 2019, the night allocation was transferred to Bexleyheath (BX) garage.
