Box is with 1" x 6" cheap ass not straight wood. :)
closer to 3/4" x 5"
Felted on bottom, bolted together for easy disassembly. would estimate 200-300lbs. bit heavier than my sofa.
Insulated with roxul safe n sound 16" insulation for 2x4" studs. insulation is double layered. $150 for insulation :'(

Ended up buying a cnc router vs building my own, as i found getting parts were stupid overpriced. figured i'd pay for the overpriced shapeoko 3 xl, and then cnc my own parts for building my own cnc... plus, didn't want to wait.
I will have to eat nothing but instant ramen for the next 2 years to pay for the Shapeoko 3 cnc router :S
I hope this video will help give everyone an idea on the effectiveness of roxul insulation. i was worried about the crack ( about 1/2" of space ) around the door, but appears to not actually effect the sound proofing that much. maybe 0.5 - 1db diff with vacuum to my surprise.
roxul insulation is sound absorbing, when combined with dry will, the results should be significantly improved as dry wall is sound blocking and reflecting. with weight in mind, i think double layered drywall on the outside will be more effective than if it were in the inside, to maximize the amount of sound traveling through absorbent insulation. i do not know if double layered green gued drywall is better than having single layers on both sides. reflective surfaces in small spaces can cause a build up of sound, so thought it would be best to not have drywall inside.
