RPG Maker Let's Play - Embers' Pyre - Game Critique
26Hello everyone! In this RPG Maker Let's Play, we jump into the world of "Embers' Pyre" by Verdelite, an RPG with custom fighting and custom artwork.
This game has a lot going for it: beautiful custom artwork, well-written characters, a battle system based on the Shadow Hearts Judgment Ring, and a robust cast. It really excels in the characterization field--every character has a unique and special voice. We really liked the music too.
Unfortunately, this game needs an overhaul of its beginning. Nothing really happens in the first 90 minutes of the game, the writing is redundant, and the conversations go on way too long. The way the military boot camp worked was unrealistic too--we didn't buy it for a minute.
But if those problems are fixed, this game has a lot of potential and would be a solid entry in the RPG Maker universe.
