Hello! We have arrived at episode 3. For this week's episode we're going to be creating an immersive shop, a shop with all kinds of interactions, potential story elements, and some branching dialog.
There will also be some elements of mapping and story writing in this video. We'll be using map transfers, tileset events, setting up some common uses for events, creating direction events, branching dialog, and setting up some world history within this shop.
This is a fraction of what you can do. If you were to expand on what we will be doing in this video you may implement a shop where the items on the display tables are the items that you buy and they are removed from the tables for a time for restocking.
Items available for purchase could also be changed as the game progresses so more powerful equipment can be purchased.
Hopefully this gives you a glimpse of how powerful events can be when used correctly and in imaginative ways. You will be seeing more of this complexity as we continue through this series.
Next week, in episode 4, we will be talking about map transfers, how they work and some ways you can use them to create different effects.
