New info on RTX 40 Lovelace's power consumption has leaked, and if this latest leak on the specs of Nvidia Lovelace is accurate, the power consumption for RTX 40 is LUDICROUS.
The latest specifications, gaming and ray tracing performance leaks have been very impressive, showing a significant performance and hardware spec improvement compared to RTX 30. But now, the rumours show that RTX 40 Lovelace has a huge TDP, or power consumption to go along with those specs and performance improvements. But what does such a high TDP / power consumption mean for RTX 40 Lovelace? If this latest news leak is accurate, can RTX 40 compete against RDNA 3 from AMD? Too high a power consumption, coupled with the potential of a new power connector, will put the RTX 4080 or RTX 4090 outside the reach of lower end power supply.
Intel's CEO Pat Gelsinger has said that AMD's streak of CPU market dominance is OVER thanks to Alder Lake and Sapphire Rapids. Intel have been on the back foot against Zen, especially against Zen 2 and Zen 3, with Intel struggling to compete against the price vs performance of Ryzen. But apparently, the specs, pricing and gaming performance of Alder Lake desktop processors and Sapphire Rapids Xeon CPUs will end AMD's dominance of the processor market.
