RTX 4090s are BURNING UP! 12-Pin Connector Melting EXPLAINED
The RTX 4090 not only hurts your wallet, but as an extra bonus, it can also set your PC on fire! The brand new 12-pin / 16-pin GPU connector that Nvidia uses for the RTX 4090 isn't having a great time right now. There have been reports of the 12 pin gpu connector melting on many graphics cards, due to a design issue that occurs when the cable is bent too much. The 12vhpwr adapter that Nvidia includes seems to have the most problems, as 3rd party CableMod 12vhpwr adapters or Be Quiet 12vhpwr don't have the same issues, or at least, to the same extent.
