Ruin of the Reckless - Swarm Run
0One of the developers let me know that there's a card for getting a swarm of pets in exchange for your main weapon. Yes, please!
For those that might want in on this, the Cards were added fairly recently and one card is "Swarm". If you have enough pets, you'll get the card. I used 2 friend potions and I think that got me the card? It might be more. Once you activate the card, it takes away your regular weapon attack and you get hella pets instead. You start off with a bunch and then you get more as you play.
In terms of "build" options, you want a little bit of passive regen but then the rest is just more pets! I prioritize a Wizards Belt (spell charge per floor), a Regeneration Orb (health per floor), and then the Gust off-hand. From there, you spam Gust to keep things off you and your pets as well reflecting off what you can. You can see it's effect in the video especially with the off-hand upgrade.
After that though, you'll just want whatever you pick up. I prefer Sword Fire magic so I prioritized the Sword Fire spell and idol (I'm not sure what the actual name is but it's the item you can hold that gives you a Sword Fire pet per floor). I also got fast moving boots to just run faster. Jumping doesn't really do anything for you since you can't really attack when you get there. That might be a me thing. It could work for you. But the rest of the orbs should probably just be more minions. I talked about it on stream where I'm not sure if I should go for other orbs which is why I tried to get more Thick Skin for health or something.
Generally, I don't think this is a very fast way to play the game and navigating the pets is like herding cats but it obviously does an insane amount of damage to things. Like other pet-based characters, you might find this way of playing very unsatisfying but I obviously don't think that.
