Rust: New Update | Can a Noob Survive a Crowded Modded PVP Server Solo? | Part 1 Gameplay Let's Play
183That's right folks, it's Rust. The most brutal, heartless, masochistic survival game out there, and I'm going to see if a total noob with no Rust experience has any chance at surviving on a popular, modded, PvP Rust server. Rust recently underwent a significant update to the way it's experience system works, trading in the blueprints for a more traditional "do stuff and gain experience to level up so you can spend experience points to unlock stuff so that you can make that stuff and gain more experience to level up some more" style of play. I must say, I don't mind it. Even if you die horribly every few minutes, as long as you did SOMETHING even if it was just harvest some wood or stone, you get experience. If you manage to get somethings crafted you get even more experience, and the more difficult the item is to craft, the more experience you get. Supposedly the items you make can be handed off to others, and their use with gain you further experience, which is supposed to lessen the "kill everyone you see" mentality of the game.
Therein lies the reason for this particular let's play series. There are plenty of skilled Rust players out there with hundreds of hours into the game, part of large clans with huge structures and the best armor and weapons. But can a new player with no friends, no materials, and no prior knowledge of Rust have any chance at staying alive long enough to make it anywhere in the game? Follow along with me as I try to find out! Also, boobs. Because apparently Rust spawns you as a random character, and we ended up spawning as a female. Awesome.

ABOUT: RUST:
Rust is an Early Access survival game on Steam, created by Facepunch Studios. We also make Garry’s Mod, which has sold over 7 million copies.
Rust was inspired by games like DayZ, Minecraft and Stalker. It is a massive multiplayer game (currently up to 300 players per server) where you and other players are attempting to survive through the awful conditions, where humanity has been reduced to cavemen.
Rust’s world is harsh. The environment is not kind. Bears and wolves will chase and kill you. Falling from a height will kill you. Being exposed to radiation for an extended period will kill you. Starving will kill you. Being cold will kill you. Other players can find you, kill you, and take your stuff. Fortunately for you, you can kill others and take their stuff. Or maybe you can make friends and help each other survive, using the game’s building tools to create a safe haven.
